Taking wedding portraits the DIY way is an innovative idea. When we started out, we could hardly find any information on how to go about it. To make the preparation manageable, we identified the key elements that would need to create self-portraits:
1. For basic self-portrait photography, we needed:
    • a camera with a remote control or timer
    • a tripod
2. To turn us into a bride and a groom, we needed:
    • a wedding dress
    • a tuxedo or dinner jacket
    • a bouquet (optional)
3. To look good in the pictures, we needed to learn:
    • styling and bridal makeup
    • how to pose
4. To take good pictures, we had to pick up:
    • basic photography techniques
Once we acquired the basic skills, we went straight to taking photos. We thought that if we could not get the desired results in the first run, we could use the experience to improve the next set of pictures. Eventually, we would get the desirable pictures. The good news was that we had some stunning photos with our basic digital camera from our very
first trial.
